Type of glue available

There are 2 major types of glue available.

  1. Pressure Sensitive Type (PST).
  2. Hot Melt Type (HMT).

Pressure Sensitive Type (PST) Inlet

PST glue was the first glue used on inlet. Since application machine is not a must, so application is comparatively simple and suitable for small scale production.

The application process in brief :

  • Clean(remove grease, finger prints, wax, water, dust and dry) the applied surfaces (panel/housing) first.
  • Draw/pick up the transparent protective film togather with the inlet gently from the blue colour liner.
  • Aim/postion the inlet to the applied surfaces (use template or placment jig if required).
  • Press the protective film gently against the applied surfaces.
  • Then with the help of a soft object; such as a rubber or a roller; and press the protective film hard against the applied surfaces.
  • Allow chemical of the glue to react with the applied surfaces, Depending on type of surfaces, this will take 3 minutes or more.
  • Carefully pick up one corner of the protective film and peel it off the applied surfaces slowly and horizontally.
  • Warning : Please don't peel the protective film vertically and/or to fast, else you might performing a Tape Test.
  • Please allow thePST glue to settle (12 hours at room temperature).

Hot Melt Type (HMT) Inlet

HMT inlets were first introduced some 20 years ago based on the demand of better adhesion.

In comparing with PST glue, HMT glue process approximately twice the Adhesion Strength, so it is widely selected for indutrial products where better adhesion strength is required.

It is however, heat and pressure are required for the processes, or in a sense Heat Press Machine is required, therefore most of the applications are carried out in factories.

Due to complicity of the processes, please kindly contact us for more detail.
